Monty D. Desai

Lawyer Monty D. Desai heads our comprehensive injury practice. After earning his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, he served as prosecutor with Greenville County Solicitor’s Office. He also worked as a former adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Division at Greenville Technical College. Monty D. Desai has recently been selected for inclusion to the South Carolina Rising Stars 2012. Mr. Desai was  admitted into the SC Bar in 2005.

Nihar Patel

Mr. Nihar Patel graduated from the College of Charleston in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. Following college, Mr. Patel attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Patel participated in a study abroad in which he attended Monash University Law Chambers in Melbourne, Australia and the University Of Canterbury School Of Law in Christchurch, New Zealand. While abroad, he focused his studies on International Law, including International Criminal Law, which was taught by renowned international law professors.

Mr. Patel worked for the Greenville County Public Defender’s Office in 2005 after graduating from law school. While there, Mr. Patel handled thousands of cases ranging from low-level misdemeanors to high-profile murders. In March 2011, Mr. Patel and Mr. Desai formed The Carolina Law Group. 

Mr. Patel practices in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. In 2011, Mr. Patel was elected as the President of the Greenville Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (GACDL).

Mr. Patel and his wife, Olivia, have one child, an Alaskan malamute named Juneau. In his spare time, Mr. Patel loves watching Gamecock sports, listening to live music, and spending time outdoors.
